Because the men don't respect them as co-workers In the article “When Women Manage Men Who Don’t Respect Woman”, by, Rebekah Campbell pointsout. Rebekah and her business partner were interviewing a man. The man had all the qualities they needed for the job. Then Campbell sees the man staring off at the counter and looks to see what the man is staring at. He was staring at an attractive waitress. Which turned Campbell stomach. He nodded and gestures for her male co-worker to look. “I couldn't help but notice for the rest of the interview that whenever he spoke about anything serious he focused his attention on my male partner. He answered my questions well, but often with a flirtatious smile before shifting his attention back to the male in the room-the person he obviously assumed was the boss.”(Campbell page 1). This is just one example. Some men seem to think that women can not run a business. Because they may be weak. Even though men may think they are respecting women, they should not just respect them because they know them , they should respect them because there a person and the way they get treated is wrong. But the way they respect them is still far from right. They think by answering these question is good enough. But when we were really young our parents taught us to look them in the eye. So that the other person in the conversation knows ,that the other person who is listening. Is actually listening. Talk to them with a serious face. And answer the person speaking with respect. It is not okay to do this with just one gender. Do this with every person you meet. It’s proper etiquette that some people have lost this. Do this in all aspects of life. Because people in work are trying do the best they can do in work. Get money to pay the bills and feed their

Pertaining to the question of Why doesn 't Mr. Green confront CEO Charles about gender stereotyping the Evaluator 's position? I feel Mr. Green understood that if he spoke to CEO Charles he would not make any head way on the issue of hiring a woman for the position . He made it perfectly clear he thought a man would be better suited for holding the position of evaluator, and would not allow any woman on his evaluation team. The CEO was stereotyping and felt it was in the best interest to hire a male for the job rather than a woman even if shes better qualified to do the work. I think Mr. Green knew that if Ms. Anderson was ever going to be promoted to the position she so well deserved he would have to help her to get there. If I was Mr. Green and made the decision to confront the CEO about stereotyping I would use a professional and positive manner to explain my position on the issue. I would provide him with the positive outcomes which would make it in the best interest of the company to hire the individual best qualified for the position.…

Why don’t women get as much respect and recognition from men when getting a promotion to a managerial or C.E.O type position? Because the media shows you that only men are fit for that position so to men, women “can’t do the job right.” I mean c’mon, there’s probably tons of young girls out there who have dreams to be the next president and even the drive to try and make it happen, but won’t even try because the media says it’s wrong to want something other than just a family. There is roles out there that actually do portray the woman lead as an independent strong woman with a great job and a family, but they also show her as a “bitch” who’s constantly away from her family and is only about work. Never an independent strong woman with a great job and a family who can balance both, even though it is possible in real life. No wonder most young women don’t strive to be the best they can be, they’ve been taught that if you do nothing positive comes out of it family…

A quote stated on page seven of Nan Mooney’s book, I can’t Believe She Did That, Why Women Betray Other Women at Work has a large effect on how women portray themselves on a daily basis. The quote explains that women are not raised to be competitive, whereas men are. Mooney then goes on to say that women are told they need to be generous and supportive to other females. Having this mentality from such a young age, women are often left feeling disappointed by their female coworkers when they feel they are being treated unfairly. Why should women feel as though they should receive special treatment from other women, and why is it socially accepted for men to be allowed to step all over women in the workplace?…

A women’s life is centered around her reproductiveness and ability to be a caregiver. For example, there are significantly more women in elementary education than there are in higher education. In contrast, since men are unable to bare children, they have time after time been responsible for providing the necessary for the his family, while “their” women stay at home carrying over the children, maintaining a clean household, and being responsible for all their needs. Since men tend to be stronger and bigger than women, this ultimately has lead society to believe that men are more dominant than women; hence, women are often portrayed as weak and vulnerable. These biological characteristics translate to cultural myths about what a man or women can or cannot do; therefore, discriminating gender. This male dominance and privilege has contributed to the notion that men hold more power roles than women. In addition, being naturally more violent and at higher rates than women has contributed to the myth that men are better leaders. Today, men are in charge of significantly close to most if not all of the largest corporations. If a women happens to be part of the leading group of one of these corporations, it leads to question whether she has the position in order to increase diversity or because she deserves and worked hard to be there. It is is unfortunate that society promotes that women are simply not good enough for the…

The dominant feminist description for men’s violence towards women is that it is “essential to a system of gender subordination” (MacKinnon, 1989). Feminists argue that sexual violence is a man’s way of preserving male dominance and female subordination, which are fundamental to the patriarchal social order (Stanko 1985). It is argued that a range of sexual violence outlines the everyday lives of women (Kelly, 1988), and similarly Stanko (1985) establishes that the appreciation of physical and sexual security by women is so firmly merged with their concern for sexual integrity as to “render the concept of safety problematic for women” (Stanko, 1985). It is argued that the safety which women do actually have is not used to their advantage and…
