Where Are You Going ,Where Have You Been is a story written by Joyce Carol. The story talks about this fifthteen year old girl named Connie. Connie is the young child in her family. Her mother and her does not have a great relationship, because she is always being compared to her old sister June. Connie goes out with her friends to the mall. They walk pass this gold cadillac where this man named Arnold Friend says that he is going to get her. On Sunday her family went to BBQ and Connie decided to stay home. She heard a knock on the door and she opened the door and there was Arnold Friend.Arnold is the definition of a pure stocker. Arnold lied about his appearance. In the end of the story Connie made a decision to sacrifice herself to save her family. Arnold Friend is pure evil. …show more content…
He had never seen Connie until that night when her friends and her walked by his car. He became so infatuated with her that he said he was going to get her. He started following her and her family. When he found out where she lived he waited for his opportunity to make his move on Connie. When Connie opened the door he told her that he know everything about her,friends,and family.
Arnold lied about his appearance. Arnold Friend is based off the Pied Piper of Tucson. He tried to hide his true looks by wearing wigs. He use to wear caked on makeup to make himself look younger. He also use to crush soda cans to put in his shoes to make him look taller. The Pied Piper tried to fit in with the youth so he would hang around the places where the youth would normally hang out to find his next victim. He made people feel sorry for him saying stuff like he had leukemia and that he was adopted and his mother wanted nothing to do with him. He knew how to use people's emotions against
