where there is a will there is a way
“Where there is a will, there is a way’ is a well-known saying. It means that everything is possible in this world, provided one has the necessary will power and determination to do it. In other words nothing is impossible in this world provided it is backed by a strong will, constant efforts , courage and unshakable faith. It is true that even those tasks which are seemingly impossible can be accomplished with a strong and sincere determination. Difficulties deter us only when we lack determination.

Where there is a will there are a hundred ways. All great men became great because of their strong will power and not because the luck was with them. Thomas Alva Edison could not have given us so many inventions if he did not have the will to have his way in spite of repeated discouragement from his father. Many physically challenged men, women and children lead a full life because of their sheer will power. They overcome the hurdles and find a way because of their strong will.

It is a time-tested saying that where there is a will, there is a way. If we have a true desire to do something, we can find a sure way to do it. If one has a strong desire, one has to think over the details of his plan and take firm steps towards that goal. One is sure to succeed. Success will never knock our door if we keep on dreaming about it. Strong desire and courage can lead us to achieve our aim. There is nothing impossible in this world. What is needed is a strong will and right path. People who are strong-willed cannot be discouraged by failures. Strong determination is sure to bring success sooner or later.

You must have the strong will to “want” to accomplish whatever goal you set for yourself. For example, when I was playing the game of chicken and always lost in the beginning, this would be the obstacle that stood in front of me, but I overcame this by not saving any strokes to get back. I remember a time when I was saying, “You want to know how I did it? This is how I did it, Anton: I never saved anything for the swim back.” Another example of how I overcame my obstacles is obvious. My biggest obstacle that I faced was when the company Gattaca only allowed “pure breeds,” if you will, to be co-workers and be able to go up to space, which was my dream. I surpassed that rule by impersonating my good friend Jerome. A quote he said to me once was, “I got the better end of the deal. I only lent you my body - you lent me your dream.” Jerome was immobilized from waist down when he was hit by the bus, which let me impersonate him and fulfilling my dreams of going to space. All my hard work is finally paying off. My big goal that I have been longing to achieve is in sight. Not many people get to live my dream, but it took a lot of planning and thought for me to sneak my way into Gattaca. My next point will be my final thought about human…
