Utopias can only be true the model of a society when all of its citizens are treated justly and equally. Utopias are only a figment of the white, carefree imagination and is not accessible for black and brown bodies because they engage with society in the mindset of anti-ethics so is therefore not possible. Anti-ethics means to engage with the state or status quo, but not trust them. A mother on welfare does not accept government assistance because she likes the system nor does she refuse it because she hates the system. She does what she needs to in order to ensure the survival of herself and her children in the moment. Utopias are based on a futural act, even the rhetoric that is based around it has the line of thinking that, yes, things are bad now, but in the future something good will happen. In reality, the historical factors as well as general things going on in the status quo tell us that this is never achievable. Black and brown bodies are socially dead due to the treatment given to them by society. Social death entails not being seen as human by the majority, which is white people because they hold the most accumulated power, and it has no resurrection, meaning once you are socially dead, the effects of that dehumanization cannot be undone. White saviorism is the idea that white people act as the “civilized guardians of the world’s darker races” (Curry 13). This is bad because even when they claim to be doing things for a moral purpose they only end up having a catastrophic effect on the races that they interact yet. They always justify what they do.
