Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States he made the Emancipation of slaves possible to achieve and he helped create the 13th Amendment in the United State this is just some ways Abraham Lincoln has shaped the United States. Abraham Lincoln was born February 12, 1809 near Hodgenville Kentucky and died April 15 ,1865 in Washington D.C. from a horrible death of being assassinated. Abraham Lincoln was the best president in many ways in the 1940’s Lincoln strongly believed in freedom and passed the Emancipation Proclamation in January 1,1863.The Proclamation changed million of lives for enslaved African Americans in many ways it was like a second Declaration giving many African American’s rights that they have been so long waiting for. The Proclamation freed 3.1 million of the nation 4.1 million slaves Lincoln’s view on slavery was if slavery was right that nothing was wrong he believed that African Americans should be as equal as a white person and that the color of skin should not limit someone capability and rights. Lincoln passed the 13th Amendment to the constitution of the United States of America in 1789 which said”either slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party should shall have been duly convicted, shall exist in the United States or any place subjected to jurisdiction.” This had changed the future of the United States because he changed the direction of history by bringing a change to African Americans which many slaves thought would never
