Overall, I feel that it’s not exactly the most moral thing to try to win by using large amounts of money that could be used to help the homeless and others but if one side is doing it the only way to have a chance is to do the same so I still see it as essential in reaching the final goal of getting legislation established in one’s favor. Likewise, with companies like Budweiser funding against marijuana the effort on the supportive side must be largely funded by personal donations from everyday citizens which makes it challenging to compete with Budweiser spending millions in different states to keep their money flow steady. In summary, even though we would like to think elected officials run off their pure values, this is not always true when large amounts of money are added to the equation, so it is hard to tell how interest groups affect my policy issue.
