Before John Quincy Adams became the sixth president of the united states, he did some weird things as a child. He saw the Battle of Bunker Hill from a hill close to his farm with his mom. He came with his father on a diplomatic mission to France when John was only 10 years of age. Adams went to college at Harvard in 1785. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in the year 1790.
After winning a close race, Adams became president. He didn't get many things done because people from Congress wanted the other nominee to become president. He proposes a national program that included funding of an interstate system of canals and roads. The Eerie Canal was made which linked many lakes and rivers together. He won election to the House of Representatives in 1830. He was a leading congressman for the rest of his whole life. He was known for his support of freedom of speech, education, and his arguments about slavery being bad. Sadly, John Adams died from a stroke.
Even though John Adams did not serve a successful presidential term, he still was a very interesting president to look up. It would be strange looking at a battle that would later be marked down in history. If the bill to give Native Americans passed, I wonder how the west would be different.
