Governments today are very likely to want to keep their power and suppress any revolution that comes up to them to keep their power forever. Jack just took over like a tyrannical dictator.
If Ralph would have been stricter to the boys on the Island, then he probably would have kept their loyalty out of fear, which is the same way that Jack kept the loyalty of his tribe at the end of the book.
So overall, I do not believe that Ralph was a very good leader for the boys on the island due to the fact that he never showed dominance, did not try to suppress Jack’s revolution until late, and he also was not strict enough to keep their loyalty.If Ralph could look back at what happened and change some of the things that he did, he definitely would have done these things to prevent both deaths, all of the fear caused by the “beast”, and the tyranny of Jack and his hunting.
