Tourism Organisations – Thomas Cook
Thomas Cook is a travel agent and a tour operator and also have their own airlines. Tourism organisations are organisations that provide products and services for travel and tourism. Travel and tourism organisations have similar roles to property developers as they want to provide travel and tourism products and services and they also must market their products and services.
Travel and tourism organisations are a representative of travel and tourism and often have to market destinations as well as other travel and tourism related products so that the public can be made aware of them. Their role is to Market their products for the rest of the population.
Travel and tourism organisations provide products an d services because that’s how they create business and revenue and because that’s generally what they do. Thomas Cook provides a variety of products and services but mainly they

Tourist Boards want to enhance the image of an area to attract tourists to the area so they spend money and are drawn to an area and this is one of their objectives. For example, VisitBritain has the role of promoting Britain to the rest of the world to attract visitors and tourists to Britain. National and Regional Tourist Boards main role is to market an area in hopes of creating tourism which in turn will lead to the area getting more money and so benefitting the locals. They have obligations to be involved in responsible tourism and have to find ways to be eco-friendly such as promoting companies on their website that go out of their way to help the environment. National and Regional tourist boards also have socio-cultural objectives such as promotion of cultural understanding.
