This power makes the paw tempting, even to unselfish people who desire nothing and have everything they need. Mr. White, for example, he swiftly retrieves the paw from the fire, even though he himself admits that he wouldn’t know what to wish for if he owned the paw. Its potential also prompts Herbert to half-jokingly suggest wishing for money the Whites don’t need, just to see what happens. The paw grants Mr. White’s wishes by killing Herbert and raising his corpse from the grave in an unexpected and highly disturbing twist. At the same time, however, the paw’s supreme power may be misunderstood, because Herbert’s death may have been entirely coincidental and the knocks on the door may be from someone other than his living corpse. Another symbol is chess because it symbolizes life in “The Monkey’s Paw.” Those who play a risky game of chess, for example, will lose, just as those who take unnecessary risks in life will die. When the story opens, Mr. White and Herbert play chess by the fire, and the game’s outcome mirrors the story’s outcome. Mr. White, the narrator explains, has a theory of “radical changes” concerning chess. He takes terrible, unnecessary risks with his king, risks that make his wife nervous as she watches the game unfold. As he plays, he notices that he has made a mistake that will prove deadly. The risks and mistakes…

Recently there has been a huge social argument about a gorilla and a child. From social media sites a lot of people have been posting their thoughts a bout the whole thing, some I agree with and some I do not. From my understanding a child some how ended up in a gorilla exhibit and to save the child someone had shot and killed the gorilla. In all honesty I believe the gorilla should not have been harmed in any way if the child was safe. Yes the gorilla should have been kept away from the child in case an accident were to occur. I may not have the correct story, but from your point of view I would like to know your honest thoughts about the whole ordeal. Should the gorilla have been…

There once was a man named Tukin. He was walking through the forest for his daily morning routine. He was walking and tripped over a big pile of leaves. He found it awfully strange tripping over a pile of leaves. He started to dig up the pile of leaves. He saw a beat box and he picked it up and opened. A tape fell out and started talking. It said “you have three wishes, choose them wisely”. At first Tukin hesitated and started to walk away. Then he started thinking “what if it really worked I could wish for whatever I wanted”. He turned around went and picked up the box and covered it with his jacket and walked all the way home. He sat the box on the kitchen and went to the bathroom to take a shower. He came out and sat suspiciously in front of the box. He inhaled deeply and said “I wish for a new red candy paint Ferrari Spider with two million dollars in it. His eyes opened wide and he screamed out loud. He ran downstairs and saw that what he wished for was right there. So he ran upstairs and hid the box. He went to sleep in his comfortable bed. The next morning he woke up and did not even do his morning routine. He just went straight to the box. His second wish was “I wish I had the sexiest male body in the world”. He started feeling tingly and dropped to the floor. He woke up an hour later and he had the sexiest male body in the world. Then he went to make his third wish and his phone started to ring. He answered the phone and the voice on the other line said “your mother was found dead this morning Tukin”. He decided what his third wish was going to be. He went to the box and said “I wish I could see my mother one last time before she’s buried”. He went to sleep for about an hour. He woke up to a real loud heavy knock. He went downstairs and opened the door. He saw his mom standing there and gave her a real big hug. He did not want to let her go because he knew he would not see her again.…
