Tory Burch’s fashion empire has now blossomed into a successful global lifestyle brand faster than any other businesses in the field for the last decade. Burch, the chief executive and creative director of her fashion company, shared that her business success did not just happened overnight but after several attempts to face and overcome business failures courageously for years. She even added that her empire was built with its pillars deeply rooted in the company’s core value—Patience.

Without any entrepreneurial experience or design training in the past, a lot of people have looked down on Burch, as stated by Business of Fashion.
“There were a lot of people doubting what we were doing in the beginning.” But Burch does not let the negativity around her stop her to reach her dreams and goals in life. Instead she believed in herself more and relied on her own instinct and gut feeling.
Amid other people’s negative advices, she still decided to pursue the business and launch her own store. "We’re not in a rush. I really do feel like we’re just starting out. It’s not about achieving a particular goal. I love this journey,” Burch said.
According to Fast Company, Burch struggled so much during the first phase of her business especially in the brand naming. Originally her business was called “Tory by TRB.” But some of her friends disapproved it. So it was eventually changed into ten more different names which happened to have copyright issues. She said it took her years to decide the perfect name for her brand. “It was a learning experience, and it was especially hard for me because I’m not one to always love being in the
spotlight."
Burch self-respect, passion and most especially patience became her greatest strength and motivation. She used her 10-year experience working in the PR and marketing department for Vera Wang, Ralph Lauren and Narciso Rodriguez to make her own business flourish. Burch used her experiences to know more about woman and to understand their lives more. She adopted it herself, learned from those and applied it to her fashion line.
