When you think of a leader, what sort of person comes to mind? A leader has to posses certain qualities in order to have a successful team, such as being dedicated to being a leader of a group of people. A leader is also someone that you may look up to, such as a coach, a political leader or a musical artist. To me, a leader is someone who inspires a group of people to meet a certain goal. A leader is also someone who makes a difference is someone’s life or in the world Take my personal inspiration, Demi Lovato, for example. She has been through multiple struggles in her life, such as suffering with mental diseases, dealing with the loss of her father and dealing with her parents divorce. Demi takes these struggles and turns the experience into a positive thing by sharing her story and telling her audience that if she can get through what she has gone through then anyone can. With Demi leading young girls and boys to get the help that they need with their mental illnesses, the next generation of children will be overall happier with themselves and others around them.
Being a peer tutor in a gym class gave me a lot of opportunities to exercise my leadership skills. When students would feel like they wanted to give up on their skills and workouts, I would lead them and motivates them to continue with their workouts and to continue to work on their skills whether it is in basketball, volley ball or foot ball. This is called “charismatic leadership”, meaning that I use enthusiasm and inspiration to lead my peers in the right direction when it comes to gym class and working out.
