Who Moved My Cheese Assignment
What do you think this story is about?
This story is about change, how change is difficult and how most people get stuck in their ways. Cheese is a metaphor for what you want to in life, whether it is a good job, a loving relationship, or money. Cheese represents what we think will make us happy, and when circumstances take it away, different people deal with change in different ways.
The author includes four characters in the story and states the characters represent the various parts of us as people?
Which character are you most like? I think I am most like Sniff and Scurry because I can sense when change is happening and adjust to it. Which character do you most want to be like? I think I want to be most like Sniff and Scurry because they mentally prepared beforehand that the cheese supply is going to run out and they prepared ahead of time to move as soon as the supply started to dwindle.
Why do you think the author included the mice in the story instead of four people?
I think they included the mice because mice are known to move around when they are in your house and they have very sensitive noses to potentially sniff out cheese. I think if they had four humans and two were forward thinking and the other two weren’t as susceptible to change it would take away from the message of cheese as happiness.
Why do you think the author made all the characters the size of mice?
I think all of the characters were portrayed as the size of mice because the maze was meant to be like the inside of a house and in order to make it through the maze they all have to be the same size.
Which “message on the wall” is the most important for you and why?
The message on the wall that was the most important to me was the last message that read, “Change Happens, Anticipate Change, Monitor Change, Adapt to Change Quickly, Change, Enjoy Change, Be Ready to Change Quickly and Enjoy it
