Thanksgiving Dinner Essay
There are hundreds of home cooked meals around the world. Some are very complex while others are quite simple to make. Unfortunately, every home cooked meal cannot be mastered by everyone. With this universal dilemma, we are always taking a risk when trying home cooked meals made by different people. Because of this I’ve decided to choose macaroni and cheese. Normally this dish is looked as a kids’ meal or a meal that isn’t very fancy/mature. In fact, this dish is served all over the world in multiple of ways to people for almost any occasion. I personally love this dish because of the variety of ways it can be prepared. Meaning, that the cheeses use, the methods used to cook, and special touches added are very important in ensuring that the perfect bowl/plate of mac and cheese. Without these three factors the meal is not to be brought to Thanksgiving Dinner. The cheese as I mentioned is an essential part in making mac and cheese. The chef must decide on what type of cheese …show more content…
Not all cook can master it, i.e. it is easy for cooks to fall into the trap of making a dry block of cheese flavored pasta. The stove top mac and cheese doesn’t really display the talent a cook has that I prefer to see in a home cooked meal. Because of the baked method of mac and cheese the chef’s true talent and skills are displayed. Any special finishes for the mac and cheese are highly demanded to make the mac and cheese complete. For example, any added spices or oils used to give it its satisfying finish. I also like to see the caramelized edges on the baked make and cheese. Family recipes and secret ingredients give the dish character. To me it says that this dish has been carefully made and hard work and efforts has been put into it to ensure the perfect bowl/plate of mac and cheese is served. I kind of thought of it as a signature on every home cooked

The families who are in the parade have set up booths to represent either the vineyards and or their farms. There are many of the same items at the booths, but each family has their own processes and ingredients. Not all parmesan cheeses are the same, they each have their own distinct texture and flavor. The families also have on display different varieties of honey, olives and their freshly baked breads. If you were not hungry when you arrived, the smells from the market makes you want a sample from each booth. The cheeses vary from Parmesan to buffalo mozzarella, which is one of my favorite cheeses. The sweet yet salty flavor and smooth texture mixed with Roma tomatoes, basil and little bit of olive oil on bread makes my mouth water! I tried Parmesan cheese dipped it in a thick grainy honey for the first time. It was amazing! The flavor of both the honey and the cheese come together in a bold dance in your mouth. My husband’s favorite booths were any that had wine samples. Well, it was a grape festival after all. We must have sampled at least a whole bottle of wine and bought three or four bottles to take home. They would hand you a sample of wine and particular meat or cheese that paired with that wine. My mouth tingled with excitement from all the flavors that the pairing brought…

Chef Thomas Keller is known very well for his sous-vide cooking techniques. Today we used this technique in the carrots and the beef tenderloin we season them and put them in the bag. It gave the carrots a more vivid color and a concentrated flavor. the macaroni cheese was very interesting technique to have it was very complex making the broth and cooking the poor lobster I felt bad for it, getting killed by savage students, but the outcome was delicious. After seeing a picture of a delicious McDonald’s Big Mac, he just could not contain that deep groan that originated from his stomach. He quickly grabs his keys and wallet, driving straight away to McDonalds, and ordered himself a delicious Big Mac. Once he received his paper bag, giving off a smothering smell, he hungrily grabbed his Big Mac, but as he opened the box he became depressed. Why? Because McDonalds had fooled him, that picture of their delicious Big Mac was not what sat in front of him. Instead, there sat a three pieces of bread, and what appeared to be two brownish, green beef patties in-between the bread. What this young man had to sadly go through was appearance vs. reality; while the picture of the Big Mac looked big and tasty, the actual Big Mac he got was disgusting. The theme,…

The kind of cheese is a matter of preference. The variety that is commonly used is American, but it is always fun to try something a bit more interesting, like Brie or Colby. As long as your cheese can melt it will work. You can stack multiple layers of different cheeses as long as they are thinly sliced. If your piece of cheese is too thick it will not melt well enough before the bread burns.…

Grandma Calls out “Dinners ready” and before you know it the dinner table is engulfed with all my siblings and of course papa. We all sit eager as ever, anticipating thinking and imagining how good the turkey is going to be this year. Everyone’s engaged in one another, talking joking and laughing around the table. It’s about as good as any Thanksgiving dinner can get, but as soon as grandma cracks open the oven the aroma of the freshly seasoned and cooked turkey floods the kitchen. It’s as silent as the nights whistle. She brings the comestible around with the help of Uncle Richard, as grandma is getting far too fragile and weak to do anything on her own anymore. We as family agreed her cooking skills are far too superior a thing to allow to go to waste. So whenever the opportunity arises, one of us is always helping grandma. In which he gave an example of the Food Network chefs such as Martha Stewart, Emeril, Mario Batali, etc. bringing cooking to nearly 100 million American homes. The author continues saying that Americans spend more time watching…

As I looked through the drawers of the refrigerator, I managed to find a package of Pepper jack and a package of Swiss. Not able to decide on which one to make a sandwich with, I decided to use all three. Not knowing how it would turn out, I reluctantly took my first bite and soon realized that I had made one of the most delicious sandwiches I had ever tasted.…
