Why Abortion Is Wrong
Ever since 1973, the U.S. government has allowed the right to kill over 56 million innocent unborn but alive babies (Abortion Procedures During First, Second and Third Trimester.”).Abortion is wrong because babies feel pain during the procedure, the mother’s rights are honored above the child’s, and it is immoral and anti-religious.
For abortion, after the seven weeks, there are two different procedures but in both ways, the baby can experience direct pain before it is killed. Two ways through which abortion is possible is by taking abortions pills till the seventh week of pregnancy or having a surgical removal up until the twenty-fourth week. The two of the most common pills are Mifepristone and Misoprostol. Mifepristone is what’s used to

One argument for abortion is that the babies aren’t alive so they don’t get basic rights. “A living human person begins to exist at the moment of conception (TPF Student)”. If life begins at the fusion of the mother’s egg, it is incorrect to considered babies alive after the moment conception simply because they aren’t born. The woman violates the baby’s rights for her convenience but apparently that’s isn’t a crime according to law which allows such horrific act. In abortion the woman is represents and so are her rights, but babies don’t get any say in it. Women are responsible for when or where they choose to have sex, so they should also be held responsible for the consequences. “U.S. high school students surveyed in 2015 and 41 percent had sexual intercourse” (Adolescent and School Health). Once the teenagers get pregnant, they think of ways to get rid of the baby through abortion because it will interrupt with their education or that they are way too young for it. Due to their irresponsibility, they get the right to kill a baby and that is not considered a crime. They should be responsible for their action whether it works out with their plan or not does not matter. By allowing abortion to happen, people aren’t just morally incorrect but also religiously. Abortion is considered a sin according to the teaching to

Abortion is defined as: "the termination of pregnancy and expulsion of an embryo or of a fetus that is incapable of survival." However, if only the debate over the abortion issue was as simple as the definition provided above. Much like every aspect of human life, a statement is neither right nor wrong, but simply left open for interpretation. There is no black and white in life, only gray areas. Some issues tend to provide us more gray areas than others. Abortion is a prime example of that. Those who refute abortion claim that it is the murder of a helpless baby who has not yet had the chance to live and function as a human being. However, the debate opposite it is just as fervent: it is a woman 's right to choose what happens to her body, and if she decides that she is not capable of bringing a child into this world, than she shouldn 't be forced to out of nature. Where do we draw the line between humane and inhumane, necessitated death and murder? When does a woman 's right over her internal reproductive organs become that of the government 's? Is abortion wrong or is it right? Are rape, incest, and potential fatality to the mother exceptions when abortion is "okay"? Are there truly any at all? So many questions are raised by such a fervent debate, that we must look at both sides of the issue to better understand it in a general, but yet thorough approach.…

Many agree that abortion is wrong because you are playing God as you are taking the act upon who can live and who cannot. The fifth commandment is ‘You shall not kill’ and by killing an innocent unborn child you are no better than a murder. The Roman Catholic Church believes that life begins at conception and that it is unacceptable in all situations. Jeremiah 1:5- ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you’ killing something you already know would break the unique connection that a mother and their foetus have. The Church of England believe that a foetus is God-given life so should be protected, if you then kill the unborn child you do not respect God and therefore think you are better that him.…

    Why Abortion Is Immoral

    • 491 Words
    • 2 Pages

Why Abortion Is Immoral was written by Don Marquis. His thesis is described in the title. He started off by establishing some historical facts about abortion. According him there were no laws prohibiting abortion in the United States until well into the 19th century. By the 20th century every state passed laws to prohibit it. In 1973 in the case Roe vs. Wade, the Supreme Court ruled that the laws outlawing abortion violated women’s rights to privacy. He then implies that the legal status of abortion could possibly change in the near future. Marquis believes that the crucial moral question about abortion is “Do we have the same reasons not to kill a fetus that we have not to kill an adult?” He believes it’s wrong because it deprives them of their future. According to Marquis, abortion is seriously immoral with rare exceptions.…
