Why Are The Outsiders Considered The Menace To Society?

The greasers are considered the menace to society, because of the way they look and the actions they make. But what if I told you the only reason why 16-year old Johnny Cade stabbed Bob was because Bob and the others Socs were drowning Ponyboy... Socs are the real menaces to society because they assault and torment, they are selfish and disguise their personality with their appearance. wished to watch a movie at the theater one night. On the walk home alone, a mustang sped by almost running him over. Knowing it was a bunch of Socs, Ponyboy begin to walk fast. The car spun around and all the Socs jumped Ponyboy. They began to taunt him about his long greasy hair, and held a switch blade to his neck. Before the greasers came to the rescue the Soc made a small cut on Ponyboys neck. Clearly the Socs intentionally meant to hurt Ponyboy, which is a disgrace to society. As soon as Johnny stabbed Bob all the Socs ran. "They ran when I stabbed him. They all ran..." (Hinton 50) Poor Bob was left to bleed all alone with no one to help him. This shows us that the Socs are everyone for themselves. "We're all we've got left. We ought to be able to stick together against everything. If we don't have each other, we don't have anything." (Hinton) Sodapop tells Dally and Ponyboy that they only have each other and always have to have each others backs. The Socs have so much stuff that they don't know the real meaning of family. Leaving your best friend to die, is a disgrace to society. The Socs are known for their money, cars and futures. They wear madras, clean hair and look very trustworthy. On the inside it's totally opposite. The Socs get drunk a lot and start fights... a lot. They get rough and mean when they are drunk, and make bad decisions. Even when they are not drunk, they still choose to make the wrong decision by jumping greasers for no reason. The Socs are just an act, they pretend to be the innocent ones, and can easily blame their mistakes on the greasers and the cops won't hesitate to arrest them. Pretending to be innocent and blaming your errors on another person is a disgrace to society.
