The quote,”You cannot open a book without learning something” by the Irish proverb because the book taught me a lot about mostly everything from the life of a greaser. I learned that the Socs and greasers were rivals because greasers were lower class than the socs. One example is when Ponyboy is walking home alone and a car full with 3 Socs stop and beats Ponyboy up and cut him, but then out of nowhere come Darry and Sodapop to defend him.
