“Outsiders” Compare and Contrast Essay The “Outsiders” film and novel are both very outstanding and interesting. After watching the movie I noticed a few similarities, like how they both have all the same characters, and the church gets burnt down. Even though there are many similarities there are still a lot of differences, including how In the book Ponyboy was jumped, but this did not happen in the movie Here are a few of the similarities they share. There were several similarities between the book and the movie. One way they were alike was Joetta thinks that the angel does not look like her because the angel is white and she is African American. Another similarity between the two was Kenny believes that if he stays behind the couch long enough, the “magic” will work to get rid of his depression. A final comparison was when they see the notebook their mom made and…

The second comparable scene is when the Socs and Greasers line up to fight each other. They are smack-talking back and forth with each other. Two similarities between the book and the movie could be the sound of the greasers and socs talking back and forth, and it both showed or described how the greasers and socs were lining up. Two differences between the book and the movie could be instead of Paul swinging at Darry, some random Soc swung at Ponyboy, and the empty lot looked different than what I had imagined when the book described it.The book was more effective during this scene because It gave more detail about how the lot looked like and it described the feeling better than the movie…

The outsiders movie and novel have many differences and similarities. I have only written about two of each but it is always fun to go back and look for more There is a hug variation between the two, the tiny details were precisely the same. The Outsiders is about a group of kids that are all different some are greasers, which have the leather jackets and the slicked back hair, and there are the Socs, they are the rich kids of town and are more dressed up then the greasers are. One way that the book is different from the movie is that the movie didn't say anything about Sodapop, the main character's older brother, wanting to get married to a girl when she is out of school and in the book there is a few pages about how much Soda loves…

The Outsiders is both a great book and a great movie. Although they are both very great, they are not completely the same, or completely different. A book that turns into a movie usually has way more information because the person writing the book isn’t just going to make it a movie line for line. The movie “The Outsiders” doesn’t work like that though. The book and the movie are about as close to line for line as you can possibly get. They have to add some scenes in movie to explain the thinking of the characters, but they also have to subtract scenes from the book to shorten the movie. The book, The Outsiders, and the movie, “The Outsiders,” are alike in many ways.…

I chose the quote,"You cannot open a book without learning something" by the Irish proverb because I can relate it to my favorite book,"The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton which taught me lots of stuff that I did not know about. The book is about a 14 year old named Ponyboy and his two brothers Darry who is 16 and Sodapop who is 20 years old. Darry is in charge of them due to both of his parents dying in a car accident. They are all greasers in a gang and often watch over Johnny ,who is another greaser, because his alcoholic parents abuse him. They also have a gang rivalry with the Socs who are rich and pick on the poor.…

Ponyboy must learn how to cope with all that has happened.Together they makes up one of the gangs of greasers that live on the East side of town. The title of this book relates to the story, because in the book, Ponyboy and Johnny are "outsiders." They can be thought of as Outsiders because they are labeled Greasers although they do not act like hoodlums, like the rest of the Greasers. They are thought of as Greasers just because they live on the East Side of town, and because they slick back their hair. But Ponyboy and Johnny are different then all of the other Greasers because they show their emotions, and are sensitive.…

Randy Newman’s song “Strange Things” relates to the Novel The Outsiders that friends and family will support you . In conclusion, the outsiders is different because of acting skills, and mostly time. The book might take a reader about two, maybe three days to read depending on skill level. Obviously, the book can’t take two or three days long. The differences are mostly ok because the movie was still a lot like the book despite characteristic looks, and settings. Other than these few things, the Outsiders will always be a great original by S.E.…
