The surprise attack took place on September 1, 1939. The German invasion of Poland was the newest strategy called the lightning war. Germany used fast-moving airplanes and tanks. The invasion ended on April 9, 1940.
Fall of France/ Dunkirk
In France of May 1940, Hitler sent many soldiers to France. The Germans killed and wounded many soldiers. France tried to go to Dunkirk but they were trapped by the Germans in sea. But then Great Britain came and sent 850 ships to rescue the French. Unfortunately the French fell into the Germans on June 22, 1940. This was just the start of Hitler's plan to take over the world.

The Battle of Midway was a naval battle located in the Pacific Theater of the World War II Between 4 and 7 June 1942. U.S attacked the burning Japan for three times. Six months after the Pearl Harbor, U.S finally defected Japan. However, America losses included 147 aircraft and more than three hundred seamen. Either way, Midway ranks as a truly decisive battle.
