The mesopotamian temples were similar to the pyramids. The steps got more narrow and narrow as they went to the top. The well known ziggurat in Mesopotamia are the great Korsabad of Ur.
The temple is not allowed for public ceremonies or worship it was for where the gods dwell or could be found. These gods were believed to be close to
man. The cities had their own gods. The priests were the only set of people allowed inside the ziggurat. Mesopotamia, Iran and Iraq have the remaining ziggurats today.
