The German empire was used to to being ruled rather than being ruled by itself,
which was a problem in Germany. Democracy was brought into Germany, but the people didn't know where to go, but all they wanted was some type of leadership. The republic suffered under the Treaty of Versailles. Also Germany had blamed the government because of the harsh terms that the Treaty imposed. Many rebellions arose such as the Spartacist movement a communist group that wanted the same events that happen in Russia 1917 to happen again. Much of the collapse of the Weimar republic was caused by economic conditions. The left and right political spectrum is a system of classifying political positions, ideologies, and parties. A bill of 6.6 billions pounds guaranteed that the economy was going to fail. Much of the lower class was unemployed and moved towards the left wing. The absence of pride led to the right wing movements. Even the middle class and the aristocrats went out of the limit for answers. The Weimar republic's failure was sealed by the constitution. Beyond 1930 president Hindenburg used emergency powers. The Great Depression worsened by deflation which led to unemployment where more than 3 million Germans were unemployed. In 1933 Hitler took over where the Nazi’s held two of the cabinet seats. The Reichstag Fire Decree and the Enabling act of 1933 had brought a state of emergency and civil liberties no longer existed. Also the young plan was an agreement between the Germans, U.S, British, and the French. The U.S supported the Weimar republic with loans. On January 30th, 1933 Hitler was named the new chancellor and took quick action to destroy democratic institutions.
