One of the main reasons the american colonies broke away from under the british rule was because britain was denying the colonists of their right as english men. Due to the expenses of the french and indian war the 13 colonies started to rebel. The reason for this was because the british was going to colonists was going to be taxed for all of the damages. The stamp act was the most controversial law ever passed. This law required the colonist to pay tax on every piece of paper they used. representatives. This didn't work because you will be labeled as a trader and a rebel.
The intolerable acts was a group of acts passed under the parliament.
The names of the acts are the boston port act. This act stated that the patriots couldn't ship nor receive goods, wares, and merchandise within the boston harbor except food. The Massachusetts government was the second of the acts passed. The purpose of this act was to punish the people of boston this will lead to the revolt which is known as the Boston Tea party. The Boston Tea Party was a direct protest to the British Tea Act that was passed through the british parliament. The english patriots raided three british ships full of tea and threw them in to the
harbor.
As stated in the preamble to the constitution “We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union” this means that the government will do anything to its power to become one as a whole. Due to the fact that we were under the rule of a nonnative government we were being penalized for a war that was sponsored by the british. In my opinion the U.S had more that enough reason to break away and start their own government.
