The KKK was created by a group of confederate soldiers because the blacks helped the north win the war. Which is also why it was so hard to make the south conform to new laws that the government passed. As Mary Daly once said, “I had explained that women asking for equality in a church would be the same as a black man asking the KKK for equality”. Well, at least laws that had to do with civil rights for blacks. Except of course jim crow laws. In fact, jim crow laws allowing segregation if its equal which it wasn't. Caused the south to be happy because it made them feel ok with what they were doing.

This ended legal segregation. And also caused the government to be involved with state police so that the laws created could be fairly enforced. Because of the power the KKK had and the fact that they had no limitations there fall would take a long time. And there still active today. They operate in private now because there actions and beliefs are illegal. And some government officials are surely still part of the KKK. But one thing has changed since then. People have become conscious. They know that what they were doing was wrong. As Thurgood marshall once said, “ the KKK never dies they just stop wearing sheets because sheets cost too much”. They also figured out that what they were doing was wrong because what we've done to them in the past was evil. We went from kidnapping them to killing them. And they hadn't even done anything
