This was because Germany made their submarines which they used to explode Entente ships with US cargo. This starts Unrestricted Sub Warfare on all Entente Force ships, including civilian ships. I think the US had the right idea when heading into this war and siding with the Entente because the Central powers wanted nothing to do with the US after they started destroying their goods. Germany starts sending threats to US newspapers about their start of Unrestricted Sub Warfare. Germany then sinks a ship with American goods and civilians on it. President Wilson was scared of entering World War One because of the economic status of the US at the time, because we were thriving from the trade and feared we would lose it all by siding with one of the forces. Because President Wilson was so against becoming a part of World War One, he made the Germans apologize for the sinking of the ship and receive reimbursements from Germany and then they agree to stop the warfare. When the US finally sided with the Entente Forces in 1918 and became a major part of the war, women’s rights started moving along rapidly. I believe it was great for the US to get involved in the war for this reason. Women were put into the workforce because men were out at war. Many women volunteered for the Red Cross to become nurses. Women were also put into factories to aid in the mass production of goods such as weapons and foods for the men in the military. Since women were never given the choice to work before, now that they have the right, they start to push for
