Since Bannister broke the four minute barrier it is now the goal for all male mile runners.
It has since been broken many time. faster and fast. Now over 1000 people have succeed this great feet. Know the fastest mile is 3:43.13 by Hicham El Guerrouj and people are still trying to beat that. But it makes you think why wasn't anyone able to accomplish the four minute mile since 1954. After doing reach it's a range of different things. It's quite amazing. Not only is it the track and the technology tough that propelling us much faster than we thought it could go and did help immensely but people are changing! At first people thought the best athlete was a average size body tipe for any sport. Back in the day the best high jumper was the same height and weight as the best shot putter. This is not the cass at all know we know see that a high jumper should be very tall and an shot putter should waye much more. Most of great runner now have long legs and smaller torso. Most of great swimmers have smaller legs and longer torsos. These body types are geared for these
sports.
Those aren't even all the reason for us getting faster, for these long distance event like the mile it's a huge mental barrier. People warrant able to run a four minute mail because they didn't think it was possible no one was striding for it. But once that one run broke that bareder people relied that is was people that they could run that fast. They trained harder, not just harder but smarter. Pushing them to there best of their abilities.
After find all this out it intrigued, what will come next how will technology make us faster will are geen pool get stronger, fast, making us more evolved. It makes you think how, far how, fast how, high.
