The cat is metaphor for sin. Junior has led a boring life and thinks the “wild and alien” (26) cat will make him more interesting. However, the cat ends up hurting him more than it helps him. “The carpeting -- every last strip of it -- had been torn out of the floor, leaving an expanse of dirty plywood studded with nails, and there seemed to be a hole in the plasterboard just to the left of the window.” (38) He underestimated the risk of taking in the cat, just as man underestimates the impact of sin on his life. He thinks he can minimize its destructive power by having minimal interaction…

Scratching is a cat’s most instinctive behavioral aspect. It is the one skill, other then breathing, for felines that need not to be taught (Death or Declaw, 2005). The domestication of the house cat first started over 8,000 years ago and with this came the scratching instinct. Having these as pets in your home can be a risk to your furniture, your health and the health of any children you have in the house. Cat’s claws can be razor sharp and would easily tear the flesh of a human, let alone fabric from a love seat. This is why for hundreds of years now veterinarians have been performing a surgery known by the medical term as an Onychectomy but many call it declawing. There are many different views on the procedure and it is a very controversial subject, recently researchers on the topic have said there are three distinct ways people think. Cat’s claws are an integral body part. They are like fingers and toes on humans. Claws are one of the basic implements for accomplishing the daily activities and also act as the first line of defense against enemies. (3) However cats can be destructive of furniture, wood work, carpeting, and could scratch children in a home. To understand why cats tend to claw things may help you understand them better. There are many very easy solutions to this. 1: Train your cat to not scratch things or hire someone to train your cat. 2: Buy your cat a scratching post. 3: Don’t buy a cat if your worried it will scratch your furniture. And once again in the end cat’s are born with claws and as humans we have NO right to take them…

Personality disorders greatly influence the dropout rates in treatment for homeless individuals. Of the cluster B personality disorders, borderline personality disorder is one of the most difficult to treat in homeless individuals due to its high comorbidity rate with other Axis I disorders and the patient’s difficulty in emotional regulation and maintaining stable relationships with others. Art therapy is often used as a complementary therapy to treat borderline personality disorder. While qualitative research exists examining the perceived effects of art therapy in treatment for personality disorders in the general population, there is little quantitative research examining its effects on treatment of borderline personality disorder in the…
