But, they chose to help anyway, to not listen to the things they had to say about the Jews. When asked what the rescuers had in common I think it was just a sense of humanity. These people knew if they were caught in their crusade to save these Jews that there would be no gain. So, the thing that all of the people who helped rescue and save so many Jews was humanity. They had morals and knew what was happening was not and would never be okay. Now there were definitely differences among the rescuers. Anytime there is a group of people, there are differences all within that group, That was no exception here, though most were driven by their humanity, others were driven for other reasons. Some were driven through politics, their opposition towards the Third Reich. Like I stated earlier, some were motivated by their relationship with that person. These people that were their friends were being treated like a pest, something nobody wanted and they needed to help their friend. So though they all had one thing in mind, to save the Jews, not everyone’s motives were the same. These people all did these things for no reward, no money, nothing, just to simply care for these people when it seemed as if nobody else
