Although drinking and driving is dangerous, people still tend to do it, but why? According to a study “more than 4 million U.S. adults admit they drink and drive at least sometimes”(Maggie) People drink for variety of reasons: celebrations, peer pressure, emotional reasons, or just because they want to drink. Because alcohol can be used to escape problems or for comfort, people tend to forget the dangers when drunk and behind the wheel. When someone goes out to a social gathering, they often feel as if they are entitled to drink even if they weren't planning to do so and proceed to drink. Instead of calling a family member, he decided to drive home. Since he was never caught drunk driving he thought it couldn't happen to him. Because of his foolish action to drive, he was the reason of a wrong way crash that injured him, the other driver, and killed the passenger of the other car.
