For the longest time, I always knew that racism was a problem growing up.
From when I heard the negatives about my race from others saying that, “Mexicans need to go back to their own country where they came from” to my fellow classmates talking about how those with darker skin tones are looked as “weird”. This led me into thinking the irony between how individuals judge those based on color when in reality under our own skin we are all the exact same, skeletons. If we were to live in a world where we as humans were just skeletons itself, we would not be able to differentiate from one another except for the height differences and the size of our
bones.
Thus, understanding that not only has racism occurred through parts of my life, I thought of resolutions on overcoming racism in our world. There is no perfect answer on to ending racism as whole considering racism will probably still exist seeing that it cannot be truly eliminated. However, the most efficient way solving this conflict is to limit its extent as much as we can through constant education. We can start off by talking over this problem at schools with teachers, friends, or parents. Through educating others with this solution, it can help us learn and recognize racism with the knowledge and enlightenment formed. In addition, we as humans must importantly within this conflict be examples to others. Leaving an impression by speaking out and thinking before saying. It is important that we as a whole acknowledge that racism in our world is indeed an occurring problem emerging. It is not getting better, but slowly worsening as witnessed throughout media and the news. Once we decide to stand up and identify that racism is a problem, more actions can be taken on through society than just speaking up at schools. We have to believe that character is what determines a person acceptable or unacceptable, loyal or misleading, instead of their skin color. With this intention, if we can start of by using those tactics, it can leave an impactful message throughout humankind and conceivably decrease the amount of racism going on worldwide.
