Why is the study of English important?
Education is a very integral part of the development of a child. English, math, and science are the core subjects that are used in education. The study of English is one of the most important subjects, not only to Americans but also to other cultures.
English is important for a number of reasons. It is important in a job setting; employers think very highly of potential employees if they use correct grammar and sophisticated English. Also, fluent English speaking employees get paid more than non-fluent English speaking employees. Using mature vocabulary is essential in speaking to large groups or in an event setting. If you are speaking about something you are passionate about, it is important that you use refined vocabulary as you are expressing the subject in which you are talking about. Our founding fathers based our country on the universal language- English. The Constitutional Convention, consisting of 55 delegates decided on America’s base language. The most important documents of our government were written in English. For example, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights,Declaration of Independence, and the Emancipation Proclamation were written in English.
English is the most common language among all of the foreign countries, which was due to the spread of the Great Britain colonies in the early 1800s. As of a 2012 survey, there were 88 sovereign and non-sovereign nations having English as an official language. The top three countries with a primary English speaking countries are listed in consecutive order: Australia, United Kingdom, and the United States. Being experienced in the English language allows you to travel to different countries, discover new cultures, yet still not be required to learn a different language.
