Why GPA Is Important
Is GPA more important than learning? What is GPA? What is GPA to me? What is the effect of MY GPA to me? What is your GPA? All these questions that adults drill into you the minute you hit Sixth Grade. “ You know your GPA is the only thing colleges look at” a quote that is ingrained into kids brain as they begin to prepare for one thing that effects the rest of their lives, college. GPA takes a person from a name and a unique identity to a number a number anyone can achieve. I personally have never dropped below a 3.6 GPA and have never gotten a C on my report card ever, but the reason behind it isn’t what you think. GPA is Grade Point Average. When you get an A you get a 4.0 when you get a B you get a 3.0 the lower grade the lower the number, and if you got an 86 then you get a 3.6 ad you add all that up per calls and divide and find the average. It doesn’t matter what class you have you become just a number. Everyone strives get the best grades, for self fulfillment or just to please their parents or to get into college. I get a high GPA so I can go to the University of Southern California, because my future depends on it. …show more content…
My long term goal is to be rich enough o give back to my community and live in a gorgeous industrial loft apartment in Boston or New York City, but I can’t achieve that if I don’t make money.     College students are receiving high A’s in which they don’t deserve to get at all. He also states that students are threatening to complain if they do not turn C's to A's. Brent Staples writes in that one way to stanch grade inflation is to change the way the grade point average is calculated because if not the more challenging courses wouldn’t get the credit that they fully need to value then to those other courses that are less challenging.
