Finally my chance came again, by joining the junior firefighters. I applied and they took me with open arms. I finally moved out of my mothers with a valid restraining order and moved into my father’s apartment. However, after I turned 17 I was eligible to join the fire company, so I did. I was finally able to help people even more by going on calls. At this point in my life, it was the best decision I ever made for myself. Joining the Company and moving into my Father’s home. I completed the fire academy and I was half way finished with EMT school. Everything was playing out perfectly. Till this day I still remember that first call I had. When I’m feeling down, upset, or straying away from my main purpose I go back to my first fire call and let those emotions sink in again. My purpose here is to help as many people as I can until I’m no longer here. The feeling after helping people and knowing you’re making a difference in their life is the best feeling in this world. As of now I’m a nationally registered EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), and have my fire 1 and 2 done, currently working 2 jobs full time jobs while attending online college classes. Also I am still able to volunteer with my firehouse and make time for my family. In the long term I hope one day to become a doctor and be able to help and make a bigger difference in their life’s and their families
