The beliefs about being a military brat are shaped by cultures. Cultures that are so powerful, it changes one’s life forever different, forever proud, and linked to one another. In the United States, there are approximately 700,000 children, ages six to eighteen, recognized as military youth. We are of every race, age, and religion. Military brats have values such as being antiracist, loyal, patriotic and honest. When growing up with others who are similar, a bond develops and we stick together like glue. These kids know exactly what each goes through and feels the same way.

The great things learning about being a military brat is learning new cultures, exploring new places, and starting over. When one moves every time to a new place, one can start over and explore. We all adapt to new cultures and learn the history about new places. For example, while living in Georgia, the military gives us orders to move to Japan. That is a big shock.
