Why I Want To Be A Racist

I am proud of the long way that I have come from when I was younger. I’ve learned many things over the years and me being a minority, I had to learn and experience things that other adolescents might not have had to. I think it can be said that almost every minority goes through some type of discrimination. I, myself, have have experiences of discrimination with maybe the most notorious example of being followed or closely monitored in the store. My parents always told me that I have to work twice as hard to get to what someone else barely prepared for. There are so many stereotypes associated with women such as being less qualified than men. There are also stereotypes associated with African-Americans such as being less educated and less intelligent
In order to reach this goal, I have to go to college first which I have to pay for by myself. I don't want anything to get in the way of my dreams so I am saving what I can get so that I can go to college and pursue my career. This is also why I am so focused on school so that I can get help with paying for college and to be be prepared for anything that is thrown at me. Because of my mother's death, she never had the chance to finish school and even though I barely know my father, I know that he has never went to college. Although my family is big, only a few have graduated from college with nothing more than an associate's degree. I am going to be the first in my immediate family to get a bachelor's degree. Besides Akron being my school of choice because of the great career path it offer me, I also plan to get closer to my dad who lives in Akron. I refuse to let my struggles hold me back, instead I am allowing them to move me forward and be the woman I am
