Day One
Dear:
Today I am going to share with you about finding your Why. You will want to have your journal handy for today’s assignment. If you don’t have one, make sure you go
What do I mean by finding your why? Your WHY is what drives you; it is what gets you out of bed every morning, it is all the reasons you do the things you do. However, it is …show more content…
important that you find the driving reason to Why you want live a healthier life, lose weight, or make whatever change it is you want to make for yourself.
Bible Verse: What does the Bible say about finding your Why?
It will be what you hold onto when things get tough. To create change and to accomplish your goal, you have to have a strong enough reason to follow through when things get tough and that maple bar is staring you down in the grocery store.
Your Why will give you a reason to push yourself every day, it will lead you to make better choices about the foods you eat, the way you treat yourself, and the way you think about yourself.
Whenever I think I can't or don't want to do something, I remind myself of my why and it makes me do the things I don't want to do. My why gives me a reason to do those things that I wouldn't otherwise do. It is what will make you successful, it will set you apart from the rest. The bigger and stronger your why, the more determined and motivated you will be.
Writing Down Your Why
Grab your journal, if you don’t have one you will need one for this exercise and throughout the e-course.
While you write out your Why, keep these four tips in mind.
1. Your WHY will give you clarity on what it is you want.
2. You WHY will motivate you to get started.
3. Your WHY will help you continue on towards success if you get tempted or stuck.
4. With your WHY you will be able to measure your progress.
First, what do you want? Do you want to shed weight? Do want to have more kids, but are unable to because of a health condition or your weight?
Be specific - don't just say, "I want to lose weight" because you could lose a pound, there, goal achieved.
Write down your goal, (example: the amount of weight you would like to SHED. (I don’t use the words lose weight, you want to shed weight, our subconscious doesn’t like to lose things, not even weight.)
Next write down what it would MEAN to you to have those things. How will it change your life? Again, be specific. Write whatever comes to mind - don't control your thoughts, just let your mind go with the process. Example: I want to shed weight so I can go to Disneyland with my kids and fit on the roller coaster.)
Once you write down your whys, go back and drill down into each one by asking why.
• Keeping asking until you get down to the real root of your why. Without doing this you will not find your true why. You need that true why because it will be the spark that drives you to higher success and cause you to be the very best you can.
From your "thoughts on paper" you have your why - your reason to get what you want and what it will do for your life. Focus on that often - nurture it, treasure it. It is your reason for striving for a better
life.
Recently I sat down with a friend and ironed out my Why and to put it down on a vision board. (add photo of the board here). Everyday when I see my vision board it makes my Why stronger.
Making a vision board is fun and a project you and a friend, or family member can do together, you can even use Pinterest to make a vision board.
Have fun with this, you are an amazing Child of the Most High God, and you are worth the time it is going to take to do this exercise. It will propel you forward in the goals you desire for success with your health.
