Let's begin with the fact that he sent his troops out to destroy every building in Athens. What kind of ruler does that? When I had first read this I started thinking okay this guy is going to be a control freak, have a democracy, and make the people suffer. To my surprise he actually let the people rebuild the city. Although that was a very kind action in his part he still should not have wrecked the city in the first place. The first document also shows that he put the cities fate into his own troops hands. To me that is taking your power and over using it. Yes, he is the ruler of athens but he is far from a God or the God. The second document also states that he lied. He lied not only to himself, but to the people of Athens. Me personally, I am not gonna even respect a guy that lies to me, let alone honor him as a God.
Overall my opinion is that although they might have called him Alexander “the great.” He was not the great because of his decision making. This also goes to show that the decisions you make can really change your life, good or bad your life will depend on your decision
