Why Is Athens Better Than Sparta

In Ancient Greece, there were many cities, militaries, and city-states. What would you do if you had to fight till death, or be trained to be in the military for 12 years? There are many things that you definitely would not do now, that you were forced to do if you lived in Ancient Greece. Spartans, Athenians, and many more that differ. I believe that Athens and Sparta had two totally different aspects on both political and social rules and situations. One reason that the political situation is different is because Athens choose their leader while Sparta´s leader was born into being their leader. I think that gave Athens more freedom kind of because they got to choose who was their leader and got to see who told them what to do while Sparta´s leader was born into it and no one could help it. But in Sparta they got to choose 5 Ephors and they had 2 kings and they went to assembly´s and help make political decisions and they were as powerful as the king. Athens although was a democracy so the people decided on some political situations and had a lot more say in it than Sparta.
Spartan men had to go through a process to get into dinners and parties , also they didn't just go to pig out or get drunk because they thought that was disrespectful. On the other hand the Athens men didn´t have to go through a process , could just walk in and they got drunk regularly and did not take as much pride as the Sparta men because Athens weren't as strict. I think for the social situations the Athens took way more pride and the Spartan´s just didn't
