Why Is Chivalry Still Relevant Today
The world needs something to fix the chaotic state it is in and chivalry is that factor. Chivalry is still necessary today to help people understand the morals that are still needed in the world today. Back in the days of the knights they lived by this code which was chivalry. They had rules that made them better as a community, and keep everything running smoothly. If that could be brought back to today’s society things might start to run a little smoother again.
If we would embrace chivalry in our communities it can help show everybody are equal. Having chivalry in society can show people that all genders are equal. It could change the fact that women earn 77% of their male counterpart. Chivalry could help make the wages equal by not comparing people to each other so it is fair to all. Using it could help show how to give respect to all. Chivalry could help assist to lower the physical and sexual violence in this day and age. According to the makers team 30% of women who were in a relationship report they have been a victim of physical or sexual abuse. In 2017 there where many cases of sexual abuse, for example Matt Lauer of NBC news was fired after they had gotten complaints of inappropriate sexual behavior. Al Franken had groped an army veteran in 2003 and allegedly groped 5 women in 2 weeks. Chivalry could help stop all these issues. …show more content…
If chivalry could been shown more in our countries it could help the economy.
Chivalry could be a helpful factor in boosting moral and, try to help suicide. In the United States alone there were 42,773 total suicides in 2014. Of that number 50% of those suicides were using firearms. Chivalry could help lower theft rates of any kind also. According to the U.S department of justice 6,185,867 larceny thefts took place nationwide. In that break down 68.1% were property crimes if some people had respect for each other and not themselves the world might be able to embrace chivalry enough to make the crime rate world wide slow
down.
Adopting chivalry in our societies could help keep the world safer. The high crime rates could be affected if chivalry was implied today. In 2016 alone there were about 10.7 million arrests. Also in 2016 there were an estimated 17,250 murders which is a 8.6% increase from the previous year. If more respect was shown to people and the environment we could make these statistics go down. All because humankind's creation the world now has five different types of pollution they are land, noise, air,light, and water. All five of those affect the environment and everything that goes on in nature. Americans produced 250 million tons of garbage alone in 2010, which is about 4.3 pounds of trash for each person per day. Even though people believe chivalry is not needed today, it is very important to make the world less chaotic. For all the world to understand morals, chivalry is still very necessary in today’s society. That means every single person needs to understand this for all to be right, to stop all the crimes and violence in the world. Chivalry can help achieve this goal, to make the world a better place to live in. The knights had the right ideas back in those time, they knew what was going to work for them and the world.
