One without the other would limit my perspectives of the different realities of the world, so I'm ecstatic that Georgetown provides me with both. As I major in Political Science in the classroom, Georgetown’s location offers many opportunities to indulge myself in politics. From visiting the Library of Congress to volunteering in the White House, the opportunities are endless in Washington DC. Georgetown introduces diversity and feeds my need for curiosity when they include an immense array of electives regarding learning about the Constitution and how it mixes into the societal aspects that with make us question certain amendments and brainstorm ideas to fix these issues like the issues regarding abortions, women rights, our LGBT community, education and policy making . Helping me choose an elective is relieved since Georgetown offers a diverse organized systematic approach in the political science major: International Relations, American Government, Comparative Government, Political Theory. Politics surrounds my society as there is a family of called Pi Sigma Alpha that's tailored to political science which I hope to be challenged by academically and socially meanwhile we work together to improve our community. Besides the multiple academic choices, it's community service opportunities are plentiful and worth wild to participate in. For example, I hope to participate Lena Landegger Community Service Awards because not only do I have a chance to come up with events and projects to bond my community but Georgetown offers much financial support with this amazing opportunity. Even more, The Engelhard Project for Connecting Life and Learning involves my passion for mentoring and empowering students to become better citizens. I believe that even thought you might not be the smartest or strongest, but you can always be a good citizen and encourage others
