Why Is Football Better Than Swimming
Football v.s swimming

Would you rather play a sport that only a select few can play or a sport that anyone can play? Let’s get into that.

So our topic today is swimming and football. There are a lot of swimmers and football players who debate which one is harder. Having played both swimming and football I can say from experience that they’re both difficult sports but i’m going to be honest, swimming is much harder. Never in my life have a played a sport harder than swimming.

In swimming you rarely get any breaks except for the 5 - 10 second rest between sets. With football you get a 12 minute break at halftime and a 2 minute break at the end of the first and third quarter. Football also has 15 minute quarters while swimming is non-stop

Throughout time many athletic players drink sport drinks like gatorade or powerade but the question is when should we drink sport drinks or water. Your body needs water to maintain performance. Water is composed of two hydrogen and one oxygen atom. For your body to maintain athletic performance it must have oxygen in the muscles (which water contains). When exercising we burn carbohydrates. When we lose these carbohydrates they need to be replaced. There are many alternatives to replace carbohydrates such as water and sports drinks. Water has no carbohydrates unlike most sports drinks, however sports drinks contain sugar with makes more difficult for the carbohydrates to enter the bloodstream. The purpose of the essay is to tell when we should…

I play a sport that’s not very popular. I play rugby. I’ve tried other sports before, but none really interested me as much as rugby. I started playing when I was a freshman at Lakeview high school. Starting at a new school I didn’t know anyone and I thought maybe a sport would help meet some people. I heard about rugby and decided to try it out. Deciding to try rugby was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. One reason rugby is unique is because you have to be flexible and adaptable. It also promotes responsibility, and creates bonds that I just don’t think other sports can.…

There are over seven billion people on this Earth, so what is it that makes me so different? I wear Nike, I drive a car, I play video games, I have chores, and could be considered a pretty normal person. I love, I laugh, I get angry, and I have emotions just like every other human being. The one thing I heavily identify with is football. For as long as I can remember I’ve played ball, and made some great friends along the way. The picture in the top left is a great representation of this. Football has taught me lessons of leadership, perseverance, toughness, how to deal with the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows. (Bottom left: aftermath of beating Staley) Above all else, the best thing it has taught me was loyalty. Not only loyalty to a cause, but loyalty to my brothers, and ultimately my family. Football has created a foundation for my character, and without it I am certain I would not be the same person I am today.…
