Furthermore, a couple of days passed and Juliet is forced to marry Paris.
Capulet has Friar Lawrence help with the marriage. Not to mention that Juliet is already married to Romeo, she cannot do much, but beg for Friar Lawrence’s help. Friar Lawrence knows that she is married to Romeo and decides to help her. He gave her “fake” poison. The poison will put her to sleep for about forty- eight hours. During the two days of her “death”, she is placed in the Capel’s monument (“DBQ: Romeo and Juliet: Who’s to Blame”. Doc. E). As the Capulets put Juliet in the monument, Balthasar spotted her and it led to an unhappy
fortune.
Lastly, Friar Lawrence’s letter did not reach Romeo in time about Juliet faking her death, due to the fact that Balthasar reached Romeo first. The unknown truth came out when responded to Romeo’s question. He asked how Juliet was doing and Balthasar response was “her body sleeps in Capel’s monument. As Romeo enters the monument and see Juliet, he kills himself. Additionally, when Juliet wakes up, he finds Romeo dead and stab herself with his sword. At the end, Romeo and Juliet ends up dead.
In conclusion, Friar Lawrence is a character to blame because he is involved in all cases and he caused these situations to happen. First of all, he marries Romeo and Juliet to end the feud. Then he gives Juliet poison to fake her death and be free from her unwanted marriage with Paris. At last, his letter did not go through and Romeo ends up dead, so did Juliet. Overall, the results of the conflicts and “family” feud ended. For the most part, Friar Lawrence is to be blame.
