Why Is Gaia Important In Greek Mythology

In Greek mythology we have Gaia the mother of all Titans who not only help get rid of her husband but also helped in the downfall of her own children. Then there is Horus who was born in hiding because of his jealous power hungry uncle, who he then fought to avenge his father’s death. Also, you have Re who felt betrayed by his wife and out of anger cursed her to never give birth to the children in her womb. Tiamat created an army of monster to avenge her husband and her pride against her grandson Ea who created a strong wind that disturbed her which ultimately led to her creating an army of monsters. Lastly you had Evil Twin who never liked his brother only sabotage all of his creations. In each of these myths you have women and men who felt wronged whether it is because of love, anger, annoyance, and selfishness every single one of these characters wanted sweet sweet revenge. Gaia, mother of the hundred headed giants and of the Cyclops felt betrayed when her husband banished her children and locked them away in the deepest part of earth, Tartraus the underworld. When Horus was conceived, his mother had laid with his already dead, only for Isis to end up hiding Horus from his uncle Set who was key on being King of Egypt. When Horus was all grown up he finally had the opportunity to exact his revenge on Set for murdering his father. He like Gaia had to wait to be able to exact his revenge/ vengeance. That’s until his mother interfered and didn’t let him kill Set. In a sense Horus did exact his vengeance upon Set regardless of not being able to kill him much to his disappointment.
