A Lot of the food our bodies consoume is touched by biotechnology in one way or another. Which is supposed to alter our food to, look better, grow faster and last longer. It is stated that with our found shortages of farmers, this form of genetic engineering can be the savior people are looking for. 60% of our food has had some sort of biotechnology in it, as stated in the article. Genetic engineering is also able to treat many illnesses and conditions within our own human bodies which were possibly much more harmful to ourselves at one point. The medicine we are given to help heal our bodies quickly in a time of need is all related to genetic engineering. Now we able to try and help fight illnesses like, Alzheimer's, heart disease, diabetes, aids, and more. We can do way more now with this then we could with only the drugs we had.
Genetic engineering can be traced all the way back to our historic times. Overtime we have found different ways to change genes to our advantage for over thousands of years. As stated in the article genetic engineering has been around and in motion as early as the 1900’s based on experiments by the Austrian monk, Gregor Mendel. In the past important outcomes have came from this. In the past we have successfully created, plants, veggies, grains and
