Menchu came up with the idea that she would bring peace to the community. In 1992 she won the Nobel Peace Prize because of the works she brought to the Guatemalan community. Her achievements brought her far enough that peace had gone around the united states there was no more discriminating and mistreating between people. In 1998 she won ‘Prince of Asturias Awards’ for her achievements in the social welfare of the indigenous people. Recently in 2010 she won an award for Order of the Aztec Eagle. Over the years she started to be known for leading advocate of Indian rights and ethno-cultural reconciliation. Guatemala wasn’t the only country but the Western Hemisphere and her work has earned her several international awards. Throughout all the struggles she still kept a high profile continuing to work for the native rights around the globe. After the civil war ended in Guatemala, she fought to have the defeated Guatemalan officials tried in Spain but eventually her works paid off and seven were tried in 2007. So, ever since she was a little girl she has had a rough life she is moving up changing the world for the Hispanics that has had it worse than
