If it’s been tested a few times and it has been proven effective then it wouldn’t be necessary for anymore trials. If it has just been introduced and has worked sometimes and other times didn’t do much then it should go through more trails until it will effectively work. When a new treatment is introduced it would be wrong to let a patient know about it, because there is always a chance that it may not work leaving the patient devastated.
If a person is in the last stage of a disease and really doesn’t have a chance of surviving then giving them information on a new treatment could be both ethical and unethical. It would be ethical, because the patient would have hope that they could possibly live longer and it wouldn’t hurt them to try, because they know they are going to die.
