Education: In college, you must enroll in pre-medical programs. Once you complete your pre-medical programs at an undergraduate level and successfully get your degree, you must apply to medical school. The first three years of your career are usually spent with a fellow hematologist so you can gain more experience. In high school, take all of the science classes that you can. Even if they are not related to biology and anatomy they use some of the terms that they use in medical school and in your studies. The more familiar you are with Latin root words the better you are.

Reflection: I think that this would be a very interesting career choice. Things like this fascinate me very much. However, I do not know if this career is perfectly suited for me. I really like the salary numbers and working with test results instead of directly with patients. I don’t know if I want to go to school for that long either. Another challenge with this career is that I faint when I see blood sometimes. I’m not too sure why because I don’t think I am afraid of it but it happens a lot.
