It was as if sleeping with multiple women came naturally to him; he could not help but attend to his sexual desires with the plethora of women that threw themselves at him. However, in the conditions he and his siblings were raised, answers the question as to why he was a promiscuous man. Raised in Boston as a rich young boy, Kennedy lived in an emotionally unhealthy household that was controlled by greed. When senior Kennedy was not with his children, he was with his mistresses. There were even times when he would bring them home in front of his children and seduce the women while Rose Kennedy was in another room. Although Mrs. Kennedy knew of all his infidelities, she took that bitter iciness and used it to get everything she wanted to spite elder Kennedy. However, if she was not in Fashion Shows in Paris, Mrs. Kennedy was at church constantly praying, but never at home taking care of her children that truly needed the affection of a mother. The twisted and horrifying reality of JFK’s family turned him into a manwhore as early as the age of seventeen. By college he had earned the reputation of playboy with girls lining up to be with him, all he needed to do was snap his fingers and the women were there at his disposal. Furthermore, when Kennedy enlisted in the Navy after war was declared in 1941, his womanizing days did not stop. He was romantically involved with Inga …show more content…

Monroe and Kennedy were perfect for each other, they possessed the qualities that each one needed in one another. Notably, their lovemaking all started at the Lawford beach house in Santa Monica - where Kennedy’s brother-in-law, Peter Lawford, helped set up their first meeting and future secret affairs. Although Kennedy was not emotionally interested in Monroe, she became attached to him, to the point where she wanted to marry him. However, JFK was not going to leave Jackie for a mentally unstable woman and automatically bring her into the White House. Kennedy had to call it quits after the famous “Happy Birthday, Dear President Kennedy” appearance in Madison Square Garden. He had been threatened by the Mafia to leak a recorded affair with Monroe, so JFK’s main focus was to protect his future and drop all sorts of communication with his lovely sex goddess. Instead of being understanding, Marilyn went nuts and threatened to expose Bobby and Jack Kennedy. Instantly, Bob Kennedy took on the job of calming her down, which lead to a sexual affair, and several months later to the death of Monroe. It is said that the depression and illusion of Bobby being JFK was too much for her that she had attempted taking her life numerous of times before her actual

The president of the United States is rolling around on the bedroom floor with his children.”(O’Reilly and Dugard Pg. 105) The other strength that sticks out when you think about JFK is his competitiveness and desire to be #1.“Perhaps the most striking similarity between the two men is that Kennedy and Castro were the sort of highly competitive alpha males who never accept losing, no matter what the circumstances, no matter how high the cost.” (O’Reilly and Dugard Pg.48) Lastly JFK’s weaknesses, which was limited to very few but everyone has them. One that sticks out and is notably the worst one was what he did to Jackie which she knew was sleeping with women, he would sleep with them when she was out of town or right in the white house, “but one day the First Lady appeared at the pool door, eager to go for a swim. Their romanticized life could often emulate some of the attributes to their Camelot counterparts. It’s not just Jackie and John that are compared to characters of the Camelot, John’s two younger brothers Bobby (Lancelot) and Teddy (Galahad) were often compared to this fantastical world of Camelot. Galahad (Edward ‘Ted’ Kennedy) ‘Though far from perfect and nowhere near a man of great virtue, Edward M. Kennedy was the knight who ultimately set for himself a quest. Its object was no less momentous than the Holy Grail itself: universal health care.’…

Kennedy bolsters his character and reinforces his familial image through the use of diction. Kennedy opens his speech by talking about his reason for being at Chappaquiddick Island, to participate in an annual regatta with his “nephew, Joe Kennedy”. By talking about family traditions that he continues to participate in for a long time and mentioning his nephew, Kennedy paints himself as a family man. He portrays himself as an upstanding member of society who spends time with his family those he cares about. Kennedy alleges that Mary Jo Kopechne was treated in a caring and loving manner to make her feel that “she still had a home with the Kennedy family”. Kennedy further bolsters his image as a generous man by showing how he and his relatives welcomed Kopechne as a family member with compassionate thoughts. By bolstering his image as a family man, Kennedy establishes that he would not do anything wrong on purpose or out of malicious intent. He also instigates that he would never have a romantic relationship with Kopechne because of his familial ties with her and in fact causes the reader to feel shame for believing such “ugly speculation”. Because of the way Kennedy sets up his image, he forces the audience to be embarrassed for entertaining an idea that disgraces himself and his relationship with Kopechne. Through self-victimization, Kennedy creates pity and…
