This put a halt on her singing career and caused deep mourning in her. Before the surgery, she somewhat doubted the urgency of removing the cyst, yet she complied with the doctor’s wishes. Now she realizes that people who use their voice a lot know more about it than anyone else. She advises that one shouldn’t let others determine how he or she maintains it (Feinberg). After years of minor roles and gigs with her mother and stepfather, Julie, at the age of 17, played the main role in Cinderella. While the play would end up being a hit, Julie thought it was the climax of her career (Andrews 157). Nonetheless, she performed with grace and courage. Her success in Cinderella opened up the gates of Broadway. Before she knew it, she was on her way to America to play the role of Polly Brown in The Boyfriend for one year (158).
Around the time of completing her contract for The Boyfriend, Julie married her first husband, Tony Walton. In this marriage, she had one daughter with him, Emma Walton.
