Why Is Piggy Important To Me

When going into this novel, I assumed that it would be a little outdated. It is honestly one of the more modern books that I have read in the past few years, which was surprising. The author gets right into it, telling you about how a plane with school boys was shot down. It had me hooked immediately. His use of actual childlike grammar tripped me up a bit, because sometimes it was hard for you to understand, much like if you were actually listen to a nine year old talk. What got me was how the author had created a boy who was overweight and had thick glasses. He may just be a character, but I honestly felt for him. That’s what I like about the author, he actually makes me have emotions towards the characters. He made me feel pitty for Piggy. He made me dislike Ralph at first for making fun of Piggy.
He seems pretty intellectual, but the only thing holding him back from being accepted by all the other kids are physical aspects. To me, it just proves how shallow kids really are towards other children when they are different. It is pretty spot on. I think Piggy is going to have a huge part in this book, and I can’t wait to see what he turns out to be or do. The story’s setting and situation effects the characters by giving them more freedom than they should have. These boys are very young, much to young to be without parental supervision or guidance. From the main characters, I expect Piggy to do something big that just blows everyone’s socks off. I feel that right now he is just being pushed aside from everyone, but I think that he’s going to make a comeback and prove everyone wrong about
