Red pandas stay in trees and due to deforestation they have no place else to go which is one of the reasons why they are an endangered species. There is less than 10,000 red pandas left in the world. Their greatest threats are humans. Many baby red pandas do not survive to adulthood. The red pandas are endangered. They are now extinct in several countries.
By cutting down trees in South Asia the red pandas are losing their homes, and boy the pandas not being healthy, it is affecting the ecosystem and water supply. Destroying habitats can lead to loss of food, lack of reproduction and no shelter from predators. The loss of nesting trees and bamboo is causing a decline in red panda populations across much of their range because their forest home is being cleared. Red pandas have a taste for bamboo but unlike the black and white pandas they eat many other foods like fruit, acorns, roots, and eggs.The foods that red pandas eat are almost all found in trees. They also spend almost their whole lives sleeping in trees.
